i woke up to beck pouncing on my head "i'm 6 today, momma! i'm 6!"

first party down. 1 1/2 to go.

beck and i had a super awesome weekend visiting family in indiana. i grew up hating indiana, but i'm thankful i've grown to appreciate it with age. i love going back there.

our weekend started off with this awesome gift from our friends emily and tony. they are the bomb! beck was so pumped!

beck was so excited to introduce me to the beers family's newest addition. beck loves bogey and bogey loves beck's red converse shoes. :)

today we had beck's pee-wee party. i didn't take many pictures. boo! i'm a lazy bum. i did manage to snap a few pictures of beck devouring his cake. he literally stuck his mouth in the cake and ate it. you would've thought it was the beckster's 1st birthday instead of his 6th.

luckily there were cupcakes for the rest of us.

beck FINALLY opened his pee-wee playhouse playset. the kid was speechless. he literally couldn't speak when he opened it. later he told me "mom, i will never stop playing with my pee-wee playset! never. never. " beck was so adorable. he made my day.

then we went to the arcade and had a super-duper awesome play date with kloey and saylor. they are by far two of the coolest kids we know.

my little man will be 6 on the 21st of this month. sometimes i feel like he is 5 going on 30. i've been busy planning the little dude two parties. the first is a PEE-WEE HERMAN themed party in indiana with family.

the 2nd party is at ROBOT CITY WORKSHOP with all the little dudes from his class. i will have my hands full. :)

i'm excited for the beckster, because he totally deserves it.

mercer mayer week

unfortunately beck and i weren't able to reach our goal of 50 books last week. my week was CRAZY! this week we've set a new goal. we are attempting to read every MERCER MAYER book we own. i know we can do it!

we don't own this one, but i am on the hunt. we neeeeeeeeed it! i absolutely loved this one growing up.

beck: "i'm not interested in cowboys anymore."

me: "that's sad. what are you interested in?"

beck: "pee-wee, robots and justin bieber."

50 books by friday

beck and i are super bummed because we won't see much of each other this week. :( i am spending my mornings working at FRITZ PASTRY and then all night at GLIMPSE POP-UP RESTAURANT in LOGAN SQUARE for the week. we are trying to spend our very limited time together wisely, so we decided to see how many books we can read together this week. our goal is to hit 50 by friday. we have 8 down. only 42 more to go!
