beck and i haven't been to elkhart, indiana since last fall when my grandma passed away. we decided to make a special trip to visit my grandpa . it warmed my heart to see my grandpa, but at the same time it was really hard to be in that house. it felt sad and extremely empty. i'm thankful for the time spent with my grandpa beers. it was definitely worth the trip.
i love this mailbox. it's the same box that was on the house when my dad lived there as a kid.
on our way to dinner we stopped at a recycling center that caught my eye. i was super pumped about it!
as you can see, beck wasn't as pumped about hanging in the filth as i was.

after dinner we went to visit my grandma.
then we hung out at my grandpa's house for awhile. he gave us a ton of my grandma's art and craft supplies. he also gave me a few more of her things. below are my favorites.
grandma, you are dearly missed.

Hi Joyanna,
ReplyDeletethis is a nice tribute to your grandma. i lost my grandma last august. i was always crazy about her. she was creative and always encouraged me to be too. she seemed to understand me more than others in my family. she had alzheimer's the last ten years of her life so it seems like she has been gone much longer. I miss her so much! there's so much i want to tell her. i still have my grandpa too. i am sorry that you lost your grandma early.
thanks mary jane! i'm sorry to hear about your grandma too. i think losing a grandparent is so common that sometimes others don't realize how much of a struggle it can be to deal with the loss. i'm sure your grandma was an amazing woman. thanks for the kind words.
